Triyana Diaries mobile app and Ask Triyana

Ask Triyana is an optional AI travel assistant provided by Triyana Diaries using OpenAI. This section describes the app version with the AI-sharing permission screen. Earlier app versions should be updated before using AI features.

Your permission and choices

Before typed chat begins, the app explains the information shared and asks you to allow sharing with OpenAI. Live voice has a separate permission screen before the embedded voice service loads, followed by microphone permission. Declining leaves stories, guides and the trip notebook available. Permission is held in memory for the current screen, not saved as permanent permission. Use “Stop AI sharing & clear this chat”, stop voice, or leave the screen to end that session. Withdrawal stops new sharing; it does not recall information already processed by providers.

Typed conversations

The app sends your question, recent conversation messages, page identifier and URL, and a randomly generated session identifier to Triyana Diaries over HTTPS. Triyana Diaries sends the question, conversation and relevant page context to OpenAI to generate an answer. Any personal information included in your question or conversation is included in that processing. Please do not enter sensitive personal information.

Voice conversations

After permission, microphone audio is transmitted directly to OpenAI using a real-time connection for transcription and spoken answers. Triyana Diaries requests a temporary voice credential from OpenAI and supplies relevant page context and a pseudonymous safety identifier derived from the session and network address. OpenAI also receives network connection information, including your IP address. Ending voice stops microphone capture and closes the connection. Text and voice use separate conversations.

Other app information

Saved stories, places, checklist choices, reading preferences and notebook text are stored on your device using app storage. They are not automatically included in AI requests. The app retrieves public articles and images from Triyana Diaries and its hosting services, which receive normal network information such as IP addresses. Full website views, subscriptions, comments and external services are covered by the other sections of this policy and the relevant providers’ policies.

AI data use and retention

We have disabled voluntary sharing of API inputs, outputs, feedback, evaluation and fine-tuning data for OpenAI model improvement. Under OpenAI’s API policy, our API conversations are not used to train its models unless we opt in. We use the information described above to provide answers, maintain the service and protect against abuse, not to opt your conversations into model training.

Typed chat requests use non-persistent response storage. This does not mean zero retention: OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs, including conversation content, for up to 30 days by default, or longer when legally required or necessary to protect its services or third parties from harm. Our server and hosting services also process network and security records for operations and abuse prevention. Clearing the app conversation does not erase provider security records.

Protection and your choices

Data is transmitted using encrypted connections. Our use of the OpenAI API is governed by OpenAI’s Services Agreement, including its Data Processing Addendum for personal data processed on our behalf. OpenAI’s Data Processing Addendum specifies processing instructions, confidentiality, security measures, assistance with data-rights requests and comparable obligations for its subprocessors. These safeguards protect the data processed for Ask Triyana; they do not remove the retention exceptions explained above.

You may decline AI sharing, stop an active session, clear the typed conversation, or delete locally saved items using the app controls. The data-access and deletion rights described elsewhere in this policy also apply to personal information we hold in connection with the app. Information already processed may remain where retention is required for legal or security purposes.

Privacy questions and deletion requests

To request access, correction or deletion of personal information held by Triyana Diaries, email atlaswalker007@gmail.com or use our Contact form. Start your message with “Privacy request” and tell us which service you used: the mobile app, Ask Triyana, newsletter or website. Provide an email address where we can reply and enough detail to locate the relevant information; do not send passwords, passport details or payment information.

We may ask for proportionate information to verify a request before releasing or deleting personal information. Requests are subject to applicable law and necessary legal or security retention. If a provider processes relevant information on our behalf, the request may require coordination with that provider. Clearing a chat does not automatically delete provider security records.

For newsletter emails, use the unsubscribe link in the message. For local notebook and saved items, use the app’s removal controls. Information stored only on your device is not available for us to retrieve from our server.

Contact forms and newsletter subscriptions

When you submit the Contact form, we receive the name, email address and message you provide through the WordPress.com/Jetpack service, for responding to your request and maintaining necessary correspondence. Newsletter subscriptions use your email address to deliver the updates you request. These details are separate from optional Ask Triyana conversations.

Embedded website pages and Jetpack Stats

Full website pages opened inside the mobile app can load the website’s analytics, including Automattic’s Jetpack Stats. Jetpack processes visit and interaction information, such as IP address, browser/device information, visited and referring URLs, event time, country and, when available, WordPress.com account identifiers. We use statistics to understand readership and site performance. Automattic documents a 28-day retention period for Stats logs. See Jetpack’s privacy information and Automattic’s Privacy Policy.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where your data is sent

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Previous use of Microsoft Clarity

We disabled Microsoft Clarity on October 11, 2026. We no longer use it to collect new website session recordings or heatmaps. Before it was disabled, Clarity was used to understand website interactions and could collect pages viewed, clicks, scrolling, navigation patterns, device and browser information, approximate location derived from an IP address, and session-replay and heatmap data.

Disabling Clarity does not itself delete information previously collected. Microsoft’s handling of previously collected information is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement and Microsoft Clarity terms. Jetpack Stats remains enabled for website traffic reporting, as described in the “Embedded website pages and Jetpack Stats” section above.
