In brief: Coffee, market browsing, Bengali dinner and ramen in Snoqualmie shaped our Seattle weekend. Start with our firsthand meals at Kha-Bar and Ridge Cupbop & Ramen, with photographed stops and firsthand recommendations clearly distinguished.
Our Seattle food memories were less about collecting famous tables than enjoying good company: coffee by the water, an unexpected Indian tea stop, Bengali dinner and warming ramen after a waterfall outing.
Kha-Bar — our firsthand dinner
Our friends took us to Kha-Bar in Capitol Hill on Friday. We enjoyed the Bengali food and lingered over conversation until we were the last table. That is the experience recorded in our story; it is not a promise about today’s menu, hours or late-night service. Confirm those details directly before planning a visit.
Pike Place Market — browse before choosing
We found flowers, music, small shops and an Indian tea spot while wandering the market. The accompanying story photographs show an Aditi Chai counter. Our written notes describe the tea stop without naming it, so we identify what is pictured without presenting a separate review of the business. Use the official market visitor guide and directory to find current choices and individual opening times.
Our suggestion is to leave one meal or snack unscheduled. Look around first, choose something that appeals, and leave room for a second small discovery instead of committing every stop in advance.
Anchorhead Coffee — our Western Avenue stop
One of our favorite pauses was at Anchorhead Coffee on Western Avenue in Seattle, Washington. We sat with warm cups, watched people and enjoyed an unhurried break during our waterfront explorations. This is the coffee shop we visited and described in our Seattle story.
We also had Starbucks cappuccinos before meeting our friends the next morning. That was a separate stop; we make no claim that we visited the original Starbucks location.
Ridge Cupbop & Ramen — our Snoqualmie recommendation
After visiting Snoqualmie Falls, our friend took us to Ridge Cupbop & Ramen in Snoqualmie, Washington, the restaurant featured in the ramen image in our Seattle story. We enjoyed the spicy ramen, particularly after having recently returned from Japan, and recommend it as a lunch stop after a visit to the falls. This is a firsthand restaurant recommendation based on our meal there.
Check the restaurant’s official website for its current menu and opening hours, and confirm any dietary requirements directly before visiting.
Other names mentioned—not reviewed
Din Tai Fung, The Pink Door and Carmine’s were among our friends’ suggested options for dinner. We chose Kha-Bar instead. These names are included to explain the story, not as firsthand reviews or verified current recommendations.
Plan your meals by the day
- Waterfront and market day: coffee, flexible browsing and one planned dinner.
- Alki day: keep lunch near your route so the shoreline walk stays relaxed.
- Snoqualmie–Issaquah outing: check lunch options before leaving and carry a snack in case traffic changes the timing.
Before reserving
Check current opening, the precise location, menus, accessibility and allergy arrangements directly with the venue. Reserve your priority dinner, keep other meals flexible, and do not assume a meal at our friends’ private home is a public dining option.
